Summer is almost here! During the months of July and August we offer special week-long summer camp programs for many popular instruments! Camps are geared towards different age groups and skill levels. All camps will be held at our St. Vital location at 150-166 Meadowood Drive.

July 10th – 14th from 1PM – 4PM
A weeklong workshop designed to teach beginner and early stage students to write their own songs! This fun and inspiring course is open to all ages and instruments! Students will be guided step by step through a simple songwriting process in a fun atmosphere! Work-shoppers will also be able to record and take home their original song! This is a great chance to open up creative doors and gain confidence in the art of writing music!
July 10th – 14th from 1PM – 4PM
Put your musical theatre skills to work as you sing, dance, create characters, act and revel in the joy of musical theatre! Laugh, sing and get excited! Everyone will have their chance to shine when we present our performance on the final day with costumes and props!
July 17th – 21st from 1PM – 4PM
This camp is offered for the pleasure of drummers who want to Rock! Learn basic rhythms through ear training, notation, as well as basic rhythmic theory. Explore the history of drumming and history of the drum set, and its application to modern music. Get schooled on the influential drummers throughout the history of drumming and spend some time learning about the different styles, from Rock, Jazz, Latin, Country, Pop, and Metal. Get back to the basics of tuning, and proper set up of the drum set. This week-long journey will land you a jam session with a professional back up band in a style of your choice.
July 24-28 from 1-4pm
Have fun exploring the broad genre of blues in a hands-on, collaborative setting! Covering material from the roots of rock ‘n’ roll to modern players like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, learn a variety of blues techniques, classic riffs, and blues standards. The band setting allows you to gain experience and confidence playing in an ensemble, while mining the knowledge and experience of Quest’s own blues specialist, Terry Smith.
July 31-Aug 4 from 1-4pm
Sign up because you want too, not because you have too. School of Rock is in session for intermediate students who are able to play a few songs on their own. Learn about the history of rock, the different genres, and influential artists that helped bring rock and roll to where it is today. During this week long Summer School of Rock! You will learn how to listen to your mates in a band setting and how to play and jam together like a pro! From creating a band name, to the face ripping sounds of rock and roll, perfection will be met with a three song performance of the summer!
Aug 8-11 from 12-4pm
This 4-day camp is designed to teach the technique & history behind the human voice while pitting you with your very own live band! In this intense vocal Bootcamp you will learn proper vocal technique and how to sing in several styles from pop to R&B. Gain your confidence as you prepare a performance of the material studied!
August 14th – 18th from 1PM – 4PM
A week-long course to explore songwriting and record your own demo! Designed for beginner or intermediate students of all instruments. The musicians will be guided step by step through the process of creating their own original music and recording it. This low pressure, fun and inspiring course teaches students to fuse the collection of raw ideas with the basics of music harmony and make it into a song! No previous written music or theory skills are required. This is a great chance for enthusiastic music students to open up creative doors and develop a method for making their own music!
Aug 21-25 from 1-4pm
Interested in picking up an extra hobby this summer or taking your current playing to the next level? Join the team with Phillip Natividad for this summers ultimate ukulele camp. We will be covering a variety of techniques such as strumming patterns and finger style techniques. Covering tunes from the 60s and beyond, this camp is aimed towards those who are starting out and looking to build their song repertoire as well as those who are looking to advance their fret board chops to the next level.
