George “Duke” Demeduk has been a professional drummer for over 40 years and is a graduate of the Percussion Institute of Technology, Hollywood, CA where he studied with Ralph Humphrey (Frank Zappa), Casey Scheuerell (Jean-Luc Ponty), Joe Porcaro and session great Jeff Porcaro of Toto fame.
George has gigged and recorded all styles of music with Winnipeg’s top musicians, including Streetheart, Kenny Shields Band, Queen City Kids, Randy Hiebert Band, C-Weed Band, Eagle & Hawk, Indian City, The Vice, Woodwork, Keith Secola, Curtis Newton, Richard Moody, Tim Butler, Barry G. Player, Julian Austin, Brandi Vezina, Tracy K and the late Stoney Plains blues recording artist Kristi Johnston, to name only a few.
George has amassed a large background of performance experiences and tours which have taken him around the world. He has done extensive studio work and has credit on numerous recordings. His teaching background includes 40 years of teaching privately and 20 years in local music schools around Winnipeg.
George teaches all styles, including rock, jazz, funk, reggae, latin, double bass drumming, linear drumming, odd meters and welcomes beginners as well as intermediate and advanced players looking to upgrade their skills.
George is also a ROCKsCOOL instructor.
